BEYOND THE IMAGE - Talk at DAN Divers Day

Wednesday September 16th I had the great opportunity to speak at DAN Divers Day, held in Geneva alongside the EUBS Annual Meeting 2026.

Definitely a little emotional to stand in front of such an audience, but incredibly happy to share what happens behind the image when underwater photography takes us into caves, deep wrecks, reefs, lakes and other demanding environments.

And I have to admit… seeing my images on a screen THAT big was pretty special!

I also had the chance to listen to some very interesting presentations by experts, including Laura Marroni, Alessandro Marroni and Costantino Balestra among others, making the day even more inspiring.

A huge thank you to DAN Europe (Divers Alert Network Europe) for the invitation and for giving me the opportunity to share a little part of my diving and photographic world

Eudi Show è ormai alle porte e Renata Romeo ed io non vediamo l’ora di incontrarvi sabato 21 febbraio alle 15:30 presso il Video Sub Café con “DA ZERO A CENTO” e portarvi con noi in viaggio dalle vibranti acque del Mar Rosso al cuore di grotte e relitti profondi!

December 7th we will be at the Dive-Expo in Antwerp, where we will have the chance to speak about Underwater Photography in high demanding environments: from the deepest reefs of the Med Sea to the stunning wrecks like HMHS Britannic, passing through the majestic cave systems in Mexico till the white abyssal walls of the Lake Maggiore, not forgetting of course the deep shafts of European caves!

Dive TEC! Event

Immagini Sospese 2022

Ieri mattina abbiamo posato le fotografie dell’esposizione collettiva “Immagini Sospese” nel lago: le potete ammirare fino al 28 agosto presso le Fornaci di Caldé lungo un percorso sommerso accessibile a tutti i subacquei, e naturalmente siete tutti invitati a venire a vederle!

Le fotografie ritraggono varie bellezze sommerse d’Italia, e sono state scattate da Cristina Freghieri, Claudio Provenzani, Michele Solca, Marco Mori, Matteo De Lorenzi, Renzo Zurini, Romano Rampazzo e dalla sottoscritta.

Domenica 28 agosto sarà ancora possibile visitare la mostra ed inoltre ci saranno anche Caterina e Guido con un demo day degli erogatori Scubalandia 979, nonché svariati stand gastronomici organizzati dalla Pro Loco Castelveccana… insomma un paio di ragioni in più per non mancare!

Alle 12:00 le fotografie verranno estratte dall’acqua ed esposte sul lungolago, dove poi saranno messe in vendita ed il ricavato devoluto all’associazione Gruppo Lavoro Africa, che da più di 20 anni opera nei villaggi al nord del Congo Brazzaville e dove ha costruito tre scuole ed un ospedale.

Chronicles of the Workshop

From the from the 29th of May to the 1st of June together with Laurent Miroult and Stefan Panis we have teached a very interesting cave diving photography workshop in Sardinia, where the students – Susanne, Frederic and Alexandre – had the opportunity to improve their skills and acquire new knowledge on the required techniques for shot in a complete dark environment, like camera setting or multiple strobes usage, not only underwater but also in a dry-caving photographic session. We were joined also by Thomas and Martin as models and Kerrie who followed the theoretical part outside water.
A really great group!

At the end of the workshop the students participated to a little contest in between them, and the winner, Susanne Streule, has now her picture exposed at the Cala Gonone Aquarium. In any case all the three guys did a really amazing job. The four days literally passed in blink of an eye as we had all lot of fun and lived great moments, both above and underwater, and on my side I had the chance to know a lot of new people and forge new friendships!

Thanks to Base1 Sardinia for the perfect logistic, as usual!

Two pics in book "Storia delle esplorazioni speleousubacquee"

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It has just been published the book “Storia delle Esplorazioni Speleosubacquee”, written by the authors Attilio Eusebio, Raffaele Onorato, Duilio Cobol, Luciano Russo, Giuseppe Minciotti, Ennio Lazzarotto, Enrico Dalla Zuanna, Maurizio Da Meda, Sergio Orsini, Paolo Forti and Roberto Jarre, and two of the pictures reported on it are mine: the picture of Grotta Utopia and the picture of Grotta del Bue Marino, both in Sardinia.

Photo Exhibition "The Caves of Orosei Gulf"

From April 10th the Acquarium of Cala Gonone (Sardinia – Italy) is hosting a collective photographic exhibition with pictures portraying the beautiful local caves entitled “The Caves of Orosei Gulf” (“Le grotte del Golfo di Orosei” in italian). I feel very happy and honoured to be part of this exhibit together with the other friends photographers Andrea Marassich, Claudio Provenzani and JP Bresser.

You can enjoy the pictures exposed there till the end of Summer, if you have the chance to get there do not miss it! Cala Gonone and his surroundings are a wonderful place to spend some time, many activities are possible: cave diving as well as open water diving, visit dry caves like some Bue Marino sections, hiking, climbing or simply relaxing at the sea.
